Cottage description and position

The cottage is situated in the lovely village of Thornton-le-Dale in the heart of North Yorkshire. Thornton-le-Dale is a chocolate box village with all village amenities. There is a beautiful Church with a thatched cottage behind it together with a stream running past. On Sunday through-out the summer there is live music on the green in the centre of the village. Over a small bridge next to the lavender tea shop you are able to walk into the playing fields with its lovely lake and many water birds. As well as Pubs, Tea rooms, baker and butcher, fish and chip shop, there is a small super market and a wonderful paper shop that sells much more than papers in fact most things that you could possibly need. Thornton-le-Dale also has much more to offer with its Classic car show room with a museum attached, antique shop, art gallery. There are also clothing shops which sell anything from a sun hat to a rain coat (which we hope that you will not need).

The three bed-room cottage has been re-furbished to make a very comfortable space.

The property is in a good position for families who enjoy the out-door life of walking and cycling as it is possible to access Dalby Forest from the nearby lane.  Alternatively for a relaxing holiday there are many places to visit such as Nunnington Hall, Rievaulx Abbey the museum of rural life at Hutton-le-Hole to name but a few ,and not to forget the famous Castle Howard. There is also the open air swimming pool at Helmsley, the Antique market at Pickering ,and the quaint market town of Malton which holds a farmers market on the last week-end of the month.

The seaside towns of Scarborough Whitby & Filey are within easy travelling distance, and have wonderful beaches for a family day out.
