There is a beautiful Church with a thatched cottage behind it together with a stream running past.On Sunday through-out the summer there is live music on the green in the centre of the village. Over a small bridge next to the lavender tea shop you are able to walk into the playing fields with its lovely lake and many water birds.

Steeped with history the parish of Salton covers about 2,760 acres with the River Dove running through Salton and past Lockwood Barn. The Norman Church is a Grade 1 Listed Building and is said to be one of the most complete Norman Churches in Yorkshire. The centre green of the village is lined with brick cottages.
